First of all, we would like to explain what hair oiling is and how to perform it.
It is a conditioning and regenerating hair ritual. You need a natural oil extracted from plants or seeds to carry out the treatment.
You apply pure oil to hair and scalp and gently rub it so that it penetrates deep into the strands and hair bulbs.
One teaspoon of the oil is enough.
Leave on the oil for an hour, two hours, several hours, the whole night… depending on the time you have. The longer the oil stays on hair, the better. After the treatment, you must wash your hair and scalp and wash the oil away thoroughly.
Low porosity hair is thick, strong and heavy. The cuticles are tightly bound, therefore they absorb water very slowly and dry off long.
Low porosity hair looks very healthily. It is difficult to damage or dry such hair.
It isn’t damaged or troublesome – what is the point of oiling?
It turns out that all hair types have their own “desires and needs”. If they don’t get what they want, they start to rebel.
Even thick and heavy hair needs proper care.
Low porosity hair doesn’t need constant moisturising but it needs help in the scalp area – strands get flat quickly, they prevent air from getting into the scalp. This may result in skin conditions: oily hair, dandruff, itching and many other unpleasant ailments. Well-chosen natural oil will provide the scalp with complex regeneration and protection thus it will be clean and spotless.
Sometimes thick and heavy hair is more prone to falling out as hair bulbs have to carry a bit more weight. They become weak, which results in excessive hair loss. Natural oils keep hair from falling out – penetrate into the bulbs and strengthen them inside.
We should bear in mind that even if our hair ends look healthily – they are still most prone to damage. You need to strengthen them by rubbing in natural oils in order to keep them beautiful and healthy.
Which oils are most suitable for low porosity hair?
Cuticles of low porosity hair are tightly bound, therefore this type of hair needs oils with small particles which can penetrate inside the hair. The main ingredients of these oils are saturated fatty acids. Oils with small particles are e.g. coconut, moringa, babassu and palm oils.
