Probably many women have bought Coconut oil online. That’s when many of them could see with amazement that the price of Coconut oil is very divergent. When visiting drugstores you can find both extremely cheap and extremely expensive Coconut oil, which sometimes equals the price of Argan oil. Why is the price of Coconut oil so different? Which one will be the best? How much does a good, cosmetic Coconut oil cost?

It turns out that when buying Coconut oil you should pay attention to two things:

  1. Whether Coconut oil is unrefined.
  2. Whether the oil comes from organic cultivation.

If the oil is to be used as a cosmetic (regardless of whether it is for the face, body or hair) it absolutely must be pure, unrefined and cold-pressed. The refining kills most of the valuable ingredients (minerals and vitamins) contained in the oil. Unrefined oil is very easy to distinguish – it has a beautiful coconut scent while the unrefined one is odourless.

Coconut oil – to be most valuable – should derive from organic cultivation. It is extracted from the kernel or flesh of mature coconuts (also known as coconut pulp or coconut meat) and it does not undergo the purification processes. It is very important that the coconut palm (Cocos nucifera) grew in pure, clean, unpolluted areas of the world. Only such treas will be able to grow coconuts with the highest concentration of vitamins and minerals.

The price of a Coconut oil can sometimes reach exorbitant amounts and it all depends on the region of the Earth the nuts were harvested. Luckily, when it comes to skincare, there is no need to reach for the most expensive and most prestigious one. Also, it might happen that nuts harvested from organic plantations are produced on the spot in a given country, by a company offering Coconut oil. Then, its price is slightly lower, and the oil does not lose anything of its quality.
